The Area
St Lucia is, without doubt, the jewel of the Caribbean - a lush, tropical gem sitting between the calm Caribbean Sea to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. It offers an array of beautiful habitats, from steep coastlines and glorious beaches, to mountainous rainforest and stunning reefs. There's plenty to explore, whether you are in the mood for shopping in the bustling capital, Castries, trekking through the rainforest to take in the breathtaking spires of Les Pitons, or losing yourself in the history and culture of the island, such as the 18th century British fort or the annual jazz festival. Below you'll find some more detailed information about the island, as well as some useful links.

Climate
The climate in St Lucia is hot and tropical, due to its proximity to the equator, but it benefits from cooling, mild trade winds which blow in from the sea for most of the year. December to May is the driest and coolest time, with temperatures during the day averaging 28°C. Between June and August, during the hottest time of the year, daytime temperatures average 31°C, but can easily reach 37°C. Temperature is never really an issue in St Lucia, making it an ideal destination for beach lovers all year round.
Being a tropical island, St Lucia does have a rainy season, during June to November, which helps keep it very green and lush. The showers are short but very intense, so even during this season it is a wonderful place to visit. You are sure to get your fill of blue skies and sunshine at any time of the year !
